What i believe is that, some people just don't take those words seriously. "i love you" is like being use for sarcasm or more like joking around. I personal myself use to do that myself and wonder why i was using it that why.
I think that saying i love you in a way should only be used when you really mean it because, you'll have that passionate feeling that you do really love them that why, you said those words like you mean it. It like for example; getting American wedding. When the priest say
